Students who miss the final Tuesday night rehearsal before a concert (regardless of the first or second absence) may be required to submit a video recording of the seating audition excerpts (posted on the Intermezzo page of the BYSO website) in order to be deemed eligible to participate in the concert. If a test is required, the student must submit it no later than 11:59 PM Thursday evening. Mrs. Hellekson will review the submissions Friday morning and notify the student and parents of the results. Failure to submit a video may result in the student being disqualified from playing in the concert.

*Update* Intermezzo Ensemble Concert Reminders
Hi Fabulous Intermezzo String Players,
An email has been sent to all families that, as an abundance of caution due to weather conditions, rehearsal is cancelled tonight.
Please don’t stress about this news, you are ready for your concert! You have had excellent rehearsals lately – please make sure that you continue to practice your music at home and with your teacher. Particularly any spots that require you to polish up the notes or spots that you will need to look up to get the correct tempo changes. Have the spots with rubato and tempo changes memorized so you can look up! Practice this at home and make sure you run thru your music from start to finish often so you are prepared to play the length of the concert.
Remember that Chloe will walk out (foot shuffle), tune the orchestra, then when I walk out you will stand up. You will stand up again after the final song. We will have about 30 minutes to run our songs, review transition spots, and practice the logistics on Monday (11/25) before the concert.
Also, please note that this cancellation does not impact your attendance and you do not need to send me a video recording. Nor is the cancellation counted against your attendance if you already have 2 absences.
Be safe everyone and can’t wait to see you for the concert!
Ms. Stephanie
_____________
We are one week away from our concert! I am looking forward to your performance. You have worked so hard this quarter and the program sounds beautiful. I wanted to send a few reminders:
- Our concert is on Monday, November 25th, 7:00pm at Bastyr University Chapel
- Your call time is at 6:00pm. This means you arrive to Bastyr University Chapel with your instrument, music, and wearing your concert attire. You will check-in at 6pm.
- Our dress rehearsal begins at 6:15pm on stage. We only have thirty minutes of dress rehearsal, so this will be a time for spot-checks.
- We will exit the stage only if you have to use the bathroom for the 15 minute break before the concert.
- The concert begins promptly at 7:00pm. We are first on the program and will be sharing the concert with Overture.
- Your concert attire is a white shirt or blouse with 3/4 to full-length sleeves, black pants/skirt (knee length or lower), black shoes (and black socks, if applicable). Please do not forget your music and a stand.
