Kristi Jo Lynn is a healthcare management consultant who holds a Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. She earned her BA at St. Olaf College where she played the flute in the band and chamber orchestra. Kristi served in various leadership roles across the healthcare industry with physicians and health systems as well as health plans. Her son played the viola in BYSO for five years and now plays viola in orchestra at St. Olaf as well. She began serving on the BYSO board in 2015 and cares deeply providing challenging and engaging musical and performance opportunities for students.
Bennet Wang has three children, two of whom played in Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra for years. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and currently works as a pulmonary physician for Kaiser Permante in Bellevue. He has been a board member since 2007.
Kathy Kearny, a Chartered Financial Analyst, is the mother of a BYSO alumna and a current BYSO trumpet player. Kathy holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and a Master’s in Public Administration with a certificate in non-profit management from the University of Washington. She joined the BYSO board in 2016.
A BYSO parent and bass musician for Eastside Symphony Orchestra, Jay is dedicated to supporting youth and local community orchestras. Jay contributes both his enthusiasm for the arts and his technical software engineer background to the board.Jay joined the board on Feb. 7, 2019.
Reid Flickinger, President at Martin-Flickinger Consulting, Inc., has extensive knowledge in program management, sales management, and strategic planning. Father of a BYSO cellist, Reid joined the board in June 2019.
Lawrence Merritt is a Clinical Biochemical Geneticist at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Professor at the University of Washington, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Genetic Medicine. His practice focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with Inborn Errors of Metabolism and other genetic disorders. A BYSO parent of a young violinist, Lawrence joined the board in November 2019.
Pascal Pinck is a customer operations specialist for enterprise software companies, BYSO parent, and a lifelong musician. He holds degrees in Art, History, and Business Administration. Pascal joined the board in June 2019.
Khek Teh is the CEO and co-founder of PlanQube, a project planning and management business. He mentors technology entrepreneurs through the Founder Institute, volunteers with the YMCA’s Adventure Guides program, and is the father of a BYSO violinist.
Jennifer Torr was educated at Barnard College as well as UC Berkeley. She currently works at Microsoft in a partner development role. Jennifer has been a board member since 2004 and is a dedicated supporter of the arts.
Ae Wongkaew is a registered pharmacist who earned a Ph.D. from Purdue University. Prior to dedicating herself to non-profit and volunteering activities, Ae owned a community pharmacy in the Lakemont area of Bellevue. Ae is active in Bellevue Schools Foundation, serving as their ambassador to Newport High School. Ae also serves in her son’s school PTSA as well as the school’s orchestra booster club. Ae began volunteering for BYSO in 2018, the same year her son started participating in BYSO as a cellist. She enjoys playing piano and frequently accompanies her son’s cello practice. Ae was recognized as BYSO’s Volunteer of the Year in 2019 and joined the Board in 2021.
Asako Yoshimura has been a BYSO parent for over 6 years, and is the mother of a Flute Orchestra alumna and a current BYSO violinist. She has worked in product management and marketing for high-tech companies and is active in the local PTA and school communities. Asako joined the board in 2017 and brings her passion for community building and music that enriches student lives.
