BYSO welcomes children of all races, ethnicities, experience, gender identities, sexual orientations, and financial means. Our programs embrace diversity, reflecting the needs and composition of the communities we serve.
BYSO is funded through tuition, audition fees, donations, ticket sales, fundraising events, and government and corporate grants.
Limited financial aid is available on the basis of need, and is limited to tuition only. In no case can we grant 100% financial aid. Families requesting financial aid must complete a confidential scholarship application and return it to our office, where it will be forwarded to the BYSO Scholarship Committee for evaluation. Parent & Musician Expectations
Membership in BYSO requires commitment from musicians as well as their families. It is very important that BYSO musicians and parents fully understand BYSO expectations and policies. Read the BYSO Member Handbook.
Our Commitment to Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. We use the information you provide exclusively for BYSO functions. We retain your email address, mailing address, and phone number only for contact with you about BYSO matters. We do not share our information with outside parties. We never sell, loan, or give our address, phone, or email lists to any individual or organization.
To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps to verify your identity before making changes to any information in our records. Order forms that contain credit card information are destroyed as soon as purchases have been processed.
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For this reason, we never collect or maintain information on our website from those we know to be under age 13. We exercise care in the use of photographs on our site and will promptly remove any image in response to parental concerns.
