All Bellevue Schools are closed, so there will be no BYSO rehearsals today, January 13.

Retreats for Youth Symphony, Philharmonia, Flute Orchestra, and Flute Choir will be held this Saturday, Jan. 11 at Chinook Middle School. All students are expected to attend, as retreats offer intensive sectional work and seating auditions. Times vary according to ensemble: Youth Symphony 11 am-4 pm, Philharmonia 9 am-2 pm, Flute Choir 10 am-2 pm, Flute Orchestra 11:00 am-3:30 pm.

Students – bring your music stand, music, and a pencil. BYSO will provide a pizza lunch and light snack.

Welcome new and returning students to BYSO’s Winter Quarter! Rehearsals for the New Year begin tonight, Monday, Jan. 6. Check the calendar for rehearsal times and locations. Remember to bring your instrument, music folder, and a pencil to every rehearsal.

*Philharmonia Students – Rehearsals will now be at Stevenson Elementary School’s Cultural Center, or main atrium. Just enter through the main entrance. Bring a music stand, as well as your music folder, instrument, and a pencil.

The BYSO office will be closed December 23 through January 3. During that time, staff will be intermittently in the office. Regular hours will resume on Monday, January 6.

Rehearsals for the winter quarter will begin January 6.

Winter auditionees will be notified of their placement results by this Friday, Dec. 20 via email.

Thank you to all parents and students that helped at auditions last night. Everything ran very smoothly as we were able to audition new and returning students. Thank you again for your help and spending your evening with us!

We are looking for volunteers for Winter Auditions on Monday, Dec. 16 at Interlake High School. This is an especially good opportunity for high school students who wish to receive easy school volunteer hours. Sign up as warm-up room coordinator, point person, or audition escort. Thank you!

Digital downloads of the fall concerts were sent out on Monday via email. If you are having trouble finding your download, check your junk mail box or any household email addresses that we have on file.

For those who ordered videos as a DVD, expect them to arrive before the holiday break. They are headed to the post office this Friday.

We are still looking for Holiday Concert volunteers this Sunday, Dec. 8 at Interlake High School. Sign up on our Volunteer Calendar. Available positions include ticket sales assistant, point person, program distributor, and concert breakdown. High school students are always encouraged to help for volunteer hours.

‘Tis the season for holiday concerts! Join us at Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Concert Series this Sunday, Dec. 8 at Interlake High School. Prepare to be wowed by our top orchestras, Philharmonia and Youth Symphony at their Magic of Mistletoe concert at 7:30 PM. To view all concerts and ticket information, visit our concert schedule. We strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance.

Musicians, call times have been posted by your conductors on your ensemble page. Concert attire is the same, but holiday accessories that are not too distracting to you or your fellow orchestra members are encouraged.
