Please Be Patient

We appreciate your patience as the office staff works through an unprecedented amount of email while generating rosters and setting things up for Monday. Please do not email multiple times on the same subject –  it can cause confusion and delay our ability to respond. Please expect that it may take 36 to 48 hours to respond to emails, not counting weekends.

Monday Parents Meeting

If you missed last week’s parent meeting, there will be another covering the same material on Monday, Sept. 28 at 6:30 PM via Zoom. The link was sent out in Friday’s newsletter, and can be found at the end of this post. The meeting will introduce our staff and provide updates on our fall 2020 online programs.   https://zoom.us/j/91066147556?pwd=aG4wRkh6VGZBdk5HSHpYWXNtREFnZz09

Solidarity

Dear BYSO Community,

The United States is now confronting the intolerance, racism, and violence against African Americans that has persisted through the years. This systemic racism has resulted in limited choices for Black Americans in every way. This includes access to the beauty of orchestral music.

At BYSO, we have long been committed to being a welcoming place for everyone, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, or gender identification, as reflected in our organizational values. We believe we can do more, as an organization and as a community. We can actively learn how to eliminate racism and make a more inclusive organization; we will listen to diverse voices and grow and change. We will invest to create opportunity. This will not be a quick process, but it is a vital one.

Music has the power to heal, to bring joy and to bring us together. Let us share our music to make a better world.
