Summer Camp Sessions
Summer Strings, July 12-16
For Cadet level or Suzuki students
Young musicians mix music with fun at this light-hearted week of camp. In-person camps will meet from 9-12 M-F, and focus on orchestral rehearsals and aim for a Friday concert, guidelines permitting.
Instruments accepted: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
Summer Strings is for strings only. Musicians must have played their string instrument for at least one school year and be entering grade 1–7 next fall.
This camp is a good fit for students at the level of BYSO’s Cadet String Orchestra. Students who have been training in the Suzuki method (or a similar technique-focused program) and are ready to start reading music are a great fit for Summer Strings! Certified Suzuki teachers will work with these students on note-reading and ensemble skills and help them begin integrating comfortably into the larger orchestra.
