Dear Music Educator:
Your student has requested a recommendation from you for Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Charlotte Field Memorial College Scholarship. Your input will be an important component of his or her scholarship application. Please submit the recommendation form below no later than April 1, 2024.
Launched in 2005, the Charlotte Field Scholarship program recognizes the dedication of graduating BYSO students and their ability to express how their involvement in our organization has helped to prepare them for success in later life. This scholarship is one way in which BYSO gives back to our community, in appreciation for the 59 years of support we’ve received in our mission to educate and encourage young orchestral musicians.
The Charlotte Field Scholarship is a one-time gift of $1,000 awarded to one student. In normal years, the winner will be announced at our final regular season concerts in May. If your student is selected, you will be notified and we will happily provide you with a complimentary ticket so you may share the proud moment.
In rating your student’s application, our scholarship selection panel will award points for the quality and creativity of the student’s written essay, his or her years of membership in BYSO, other service to BYSO (such as Summer Music Camp internship, stagehand work, or office volunteer work), your letter of recommendation, and the student’s statement of educational and career goals.
