Trudi Jackson is a Seattle native who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She worked in marketing computer and networking systems in California, Sweden, and Washington. She has been active with the Bellevue Schools Foundation for the last twelve years, and also serves on the Bellevue Arts Commission. She is familiar with the on-the-go life of a BYSO parent, having raised two daughters who between them studied piano, organ, saxophone, cello, and voice. Ms. Jackson herself studied harp as a teenager.
Season Ticket Pick-Up
All Season ticket orders will be available for pick-up before the concerts this weekend at a table in the Meydenbauer lobby.
Taiwan Philharmonic Tickets Available
Four free tickets to the outstanding Taiwan Philharmonic’s concert on Nov. 3, 7:30 PM at Meany Hall are available. The program will include works by Brahms and Gordon Chin, and acclaimed pianist Stephen Hough will perform in Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Email info@byso.org if you are interested in attending this concert.
Part-time Production Assistant Needed
BYSO needs a part-time production assistant to help set-up, take-down, and other logistics of concerts and other events. The job entails mostly evening and weekend work. Please check out this important position.
Sign Up To Help at Rehearsals
Several of our orchestras greatly need volunteers to help set up chairs before rehearsal and put them away after rehearsal. This usually takes about 15 minutes, but is critical for rehearsals to start on time. Volunteer shifts are now available on the volunteer calendar. You can sign up for one shift, or for an entire quarter.
Ensemble Assignments Will Be Emailed By Thursday Sept. 13
Ensemble assignments will be emailed to the household email by Thursday evening, Sept. 13. Not all ensembles are notified simultaneously, so please be patient while awaiting your assignment. If you do not see your assignment email, please check your spam or junk folders before contacting the office on Friday.
Parent Meeting Sept. 17 Interlake
Parents of assigned students are invited to attend the Parents Meeting at 6:45 -7:15 PM on Monday Sept. 17 at Interlake High School Performing Arts Center. This meeting will provide a great overview of the program and our upcoming season.
Audition Registration Closes Tuesday Sept. 4 at Noon
Registration for BYSO Fall Auditions will close at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 4. Late registrations may be considered for low brass instruments, bass, and viola. Please contact auditions@byso.org to inquire about late registration.
Fall Audition Information
Auditions for the 2018-19 season will be held September 8, 9, and 10. Signups will open in mid-August. Check the audition levels to prepare for your audition.
