Our Virtual Stage is Ready

Week 3 of BYSO’s Virtual Garden Party is well underway!

This afternoon, enjoy Cadet violinist Alice Yan’s charming performance of The Puppet Show by Josephine Trott. On Wednesday, principle oboist from Sinfonia Calvin Tsai will perform the first movement of Ralph Vaughn William’s Oboe Concerto. A trio of siblings from the Youth Symphony will conclude this week’s musical offerings. Hope Hyink on viola, Benjamin Hyink on cello, and Micah Hyink on violin will perform Ernst von Dohnanyi’s first movement of his Serenade in C Major.

Video performances are posted at 1:00 PM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on the front page of our website, Instagram, and Facebook. Your participation and donations ensure BYSO can continue to provide music education to our youth. Thank you!

Garden Party Week 2 Overview

Thank you to our Garden Party musicians this week for your fabulous performances! This week we heard a violin solo by Alice Yan, an oboe solo by Calvin Tsai, and a string trio by Hope Hyink, Benjamin Hyink, and Micah Hyink. We would also like to extend a special thank you to our sponsors Bennet Wang, Pascal Pinck, and James and Judy Reed.

Fundraising represents 30% of BYSO’s annual budget, and we are hoping to raise $20,000 in total with this now-virtual event through May 9, 2020. Today, we are just shy of 50% of our goal!

Please consider donating or sharing this event, as we truly cannot do this without you.

Stay tuned for more performances next week on our website, Instagram, and Facebook pages.

Have a musical weekend.

This Week’s Garden Party Overview

Thank you to our donors and supporters of all kinds for participating in this week’s Garden Party Fundraiser. We saw video performances by BYSO siblings, Vivek & Mallika Shaw, Sinfonia assistant conductor and violin coach, Ashley Horn, and BYSO Music Director and Youth Symphony conductor, Dr. Teresa Metzger Howe.

Thanks to you, we have raised $4,000 of our $20,000 goal. Your contributions help ensure that BYSO can continue to provide support and music education to the youth in our communities. We are very appreciative of your support.

As we still have a ways to go in fundraising, we ask you to do what you can to support BYSO – whether it be sharing our videos on Facebook or Instagram to your friends, sponsoring a video performance, or making a donation. Any help goes a long way. Thank you again, we cannot do this without you.

Stay tuned for next week’s videos featuring BYSO’s brilliant students – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on our website and social media. Have a safe weekend!
