BYSO’s Spring Auditions are open to new students at all levels and instruments. Registration, which includes a video audition submission, is due this Wednesday, February 24. Learn about the audition process. If you have any questions, contact auditions@byso.org.

Auditions for BYSO’s Spring session are now open for NEW students at all levels. Review all information regarding auditions under the Enrollment tab. You can start the process on BYSO’s When and How to Audition page.

BYSO’s Spring Quarter will begin on March 22, 2021. Students will be kept in the same ensemble they were assigned to in Winter Quarter. For example, students in Philharmonia Strings Blue this quarter, will remain in Philharmonia Strings Blue next quarter.

If your student wants to change their ensemble, is interested in participating in more or less ensembles, or has decided to not participate at all this spring, email admin@byso.org by March 10th, so we have time to make those adjustments. Be sure to include the name and birthdate of your student in that email.

Tuition for spring quarter will be due by April 3, 2021. This year we are charging tuition quarterly, instead of yearly, to provide flexibility. Learn about financial assistance.

There is no rehearsal this Monday, February 15 for President’s Day. Enjoy your evening evening off! We will come back together again Monday, February 22.

Make sure to tell your friends about BYSO. We are accepting new students this spring quarter, with audition registration opening up next week. BYSO Spring 2021 Auditions are open to all instruments and only students that have not already auditioned this season. Learn more under the Enrollment tab.

BYSO is accepting new students this spring! Auditions are only for students that have not already auditioned this 2020-21 season. The submission period will open next week (mid-February) and close Feb. 24. Learn more about auditions under the Enrollment tab of our website.

See you at rehearsal this evening, Monday, February 8. Make sure to check your email and your ensemble’s page (located under the Ensembles tab) for any updates from your director.

Unless otherwise notified, there will be no rehearsal next Monday, February 15 for President’s Day.

BYSO has planned the 2020-21 season by a quarter-to-quarter basis, allowing flexibility for families during this time of uncertainty.  Therefore, families are asked to pay tuition each quarter, rather than just once for the whole year like in the past. If you have not paid tuition yet this quarter or last quarter, please pay tuition here.  You can also mail a check to our office at:

We ask that you pay your tuition as soon as possible. This is very important as it allows us to keep our program open. If there is an outstanding balance from the fall quarter, participation in the spring quarter will not be allowed.

BYSO was saddened to hear of the passing of Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra’s principal flautist, Kirsten James. Although Kirsten did not work with BYSO directly, she has taught many of our flute students over many years. Our hearts are with Kirsten’s friends and family.
