Trudi Jackson is a Seattle native who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She worked in marketing computer and networking systems in California, Sweden, and Washington. She has been active with the Bellevue Schools Foundation for the last twelve years, and also serves on the Bellevue Arts Commission. She is familiar with the on-the-go life of a BYSO parent, having raised two daughters who between them studied piano, organ, saxophone, cello, and voice. Ms. Jackson herself studied harp as a teenager.
Newsletter sent to Gmail Users
A newsletter was sent on Friday morning to auditionees with Gmail addresses with directions for accessing appointment times. If you have not received a confirmation email, please follow the instructions in that newsletter.
Gmail Issues – Confirmations
Most audition time confirmations were sent out on Friday, August 30, and the remainder this week. The email was from auditions@byso.org. If you have not received your confirmation, please first check your spam folder on your main computer, and if not found, contact the BYSO office. Gmail appears to be blocking many of the confirmation emails.
Audition Registration Will Open Mid-August
To sign up for a Fall audition with BYSO, you must register through this website. Registration will open in mid-August. In the meantime, please review Audition Levels and work on your sight-reading to prepare for your audition.
Video Orders
For those who ordered videos for the Spring concerts, video download links were sent out by email today. If you ordered a download and did not receive your email, please check your junk/spam folders and other family emails before emailing the BYSO office. DVDs will be in the mail on Monday.
Rehearsals Cancelled February 11
All rehearsals are cancelled for Monday, February 11 due to the snow.
All students should actively practice their music this week, listening to recordings where indicated. Concerts are coming up soon!
Cadet and Debut Retreats Cancelled
Due to the forecast of snow on Friday and Saturday, the Saturday retreats for Cadet and Debut are cancelled.
Weather Update
BYSO follows the Bellevue School District schedule with regard to bad weather – if BSD is closed, so is BYSO.
However, your personal safety is of paramount importance. If you cannot safely travel to a BYSO rehearsal, retreat, or concert, please stay home.
An announcement regarding the Cadet and Debut retreats will be posted on Friday morning.
NO REHEARSAL FEB. 4
There will be NO rehearsal for all ensembles today, February 4. All Bellevue School District facilities are closed.

Premiere Moves to Sammamish High School
Effective November 19, Premiere Orchestra rehearsals will be held at Sammamish High School, 100 140th Ave SE, Bellevue, WA 98005. Rehearsal times remain the same, 6:30-8:30 PM.
