Virtual Garden Party Grand Finale May 9

Tomorrow we celebrate the Grand Finale of BYSO’s 2020 Virtual Garden Party. Every hour from 9 am to 4 pm, a new video performance will be posted on our website, Facebook, and Instagram. We have lots in store for you including an impressive flute collaboration, a glockenspiel piece, and an appearance from Steve Reeder. We could not have done this without the hard work of our students, staff, families, and supporters.

May 7 Fundraiser Update: 76% There!

Good morning! A big thank you to our contributors, large and small, for supporting BYSO during this very uncertain time. We have raised $15,278 of our $20,000 fundraiser goal and just have a few days left to go! Tune in on our website, Facebook, or Instagram at 1 PM today and tomorrow, and buckle up for a big grand finale on Saturday, May 9, where we will be showcasing a series of excellent performances from 9 AM – 4 PM.

Thank you for all your contributions to BYSO’s Virtual Garden Party! We have raised $14,339 of our $20,000 fundraiser goal and just have a few days left to go! Tune in on our website, Facebook, or Instagram at 1 PM every day this week for a new performance and then get ready for the big grand finale on Saturday, May 9 for a series of excellent performances from 9 AM – 4 PM.

May 5 Update: 71% There!

Wow, a BIG thank you to all of our supporters and donors so far! We have raised $14,144 of our $20,000 Garden Party fundraiser goal. The Garden Party will continue stronger than ever this week, with new student and staff performances every day at 1 PM and then a series of excellent performances on Saturday, May 9 for a grandiose finale.

Thank you to all musicians and supporters at all levels for contributing to BYSO’s Virtual Garden Party fundraiser thus far. We are thrilled by all the excitement our community has shown for our virtual student and staff performances. Thank you again, we could not do this without you.

We have reached 63% of our $20,000 goal. Starting this Monday, May 4, we will be celebrating our Garden Party Grand Finale, with a new performance every day of the week followed by back-to-back performances on Saturday, May 9. We cannot wait to share what our students and staff have come up with!

Week 3 Garden Party Overview

Thank you to our musicians this week for your fabulous performances! This week, we heard a violin solo by Alice Yan, an oboe solo by Calvin Tsai, and a sibling string trio by Hope Hyink, Benjamin Hyink, and Micah Hyink. We would also like to give a special thank you to our sponsors, Bennet Wang, Pascal Pinck, and James and Judy Reed.

Fundraising represents 30% of BYSO’s annual budget, and we are hoping to raise $20,000 in total with this now-virtual event through May 9, 2020. Today, we are just shy of 50% of our goal!

Please consider donating or sharing this event. Your support helps ensure BYSO can keep providing music education and programs to our youth. We truly cannot do this without you.

Our Virtual Stage is Ready

Week 3 of BYSO’s Virtual Garden Party is well underway!

This afternoon, enjoy Cadet violinist Alice Yan’s charming performance of The Puppet Show by Josephine Trott. On Wednesday, principle oboist from Sinfonia Calvin Tsai will perform the first movement of Ralph Vaughn William’s Oboe Concerto. A trio of siblings from the Youth Symphony will conclude this week’s musical offerings. Hope Hyink on viola, Benjamin Hyink on cello, and Micah Hyink on violin will perform Ernst von Dohnanyi’s first movement of his Serenade in C Major.

Video performances are posted at 1:00 PM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on the front page of our website, Instagram, and Facebook. Your participation and donations ensure BYSO can continue to provide music education to our youth. Thank you!
