Summer Music Institute (Sinfonia, Philharmonia, Youth Symphony)

Treat yourself to an intensive musical experience under the baton of Dr. Teresa Metzger Howe, BYSO’s Music Director and Youth Symphony conductor. This camp has shared focus on chamber music and full orchestra! All students work in instrument sectionals and small chamber ensembles with professional musicians and enjoy elective classes in other musical disciplines.
For the serious teen musician, the Summer Music Institute (SMI) is an excellent way to expand your musical horizons and keep your skills sharp during the break between concert seasons, all in an atmosphere of fun, friendship, and mutual support
Tuition includes all instruction, one daily snack, camp T-shirt, water bottle, and music folder. Student brings instrument and lunch
For Advanced Strings, Woodwinds, Brass & Percussion
Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, Tuba, and all Percussion
Most musicians will be entering grade 9–12 next fall. This camp is a good fit for students at the level of BYSO’s Sinfonia, Philharmonia, or Youth Symphony.
Friday, July 27. Orchestra 1:00-2:00 pm (outside if weather permits); Chamber Ensembles 2:00-3:15 pm (indoors)
