Student Checklist

  • You WILL need to bring a stand for the concert. You will NOT need to bring a music stand to the rehearsal.
  • Print your sheet music using the links above and bring with you to rehearsal.
  • We are trying to schedule a short dress rehearsal to practice the finale at the church prior to the start of the concert. We are trying to get this sorted out ASAP.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Can a student leave early/arrive late?
In short, no. With only one rehearsal, students who participate in this outreach performance must attend the entirety of their assigned blocks of rehearsal on May 10. If there are extenuating circumstances, please email musicdirector@byso.org.
  • Can parents/families come to the concert?
Yes! The concert is free and tickets are not required, but the venue does fill up quickly (this is a very popular concert and there are regularly 500-600 people who attend).
  • What do I wear?
Dress for this concert is all black. Please follow BYSO guidelines regarding concert dress for Youth Symphony and Philharmonia orchestras,. And, bring your BYSO hoodie to wear if it’s cold!
