Etiquette
Some guidelines for Audience behavior at concerts
Performance Etiquette at all Concerts.
• NO flash pictures during any performances.
• Please arrive on time to get settled in your seats and stay for the entire performance out of courtesy for the performers and those around you. Doors will open 15 minutes before the performance.
• ALL cell phones and pagers must be turned off during the performance.
• If small children are attending, plan to sit near the back on an aisle so their needs can be attended to with the least distraction.
• Please talk to your children before the concert about their behavior during a concert and remind them that they must remain quietly in their seats during the concert. Unlike a sporting event where noisy behavior is acceptable and the norm, at music performances, it is not.
• No running around is allowed.
• Plan to take care of bathroom and water fountain needs either before the playing begins or during intermission. Moving about or talking during the performance is very distracting to all.
• BYSO students are required to stay for the entire concert – this is part of their music listening education.
• Electronic equipment, including but not limited to CD players, cassette players, I-Pods and Game Boys, are not permitted at performances or rehearsals.
• At break times, all musicians are required to remain in the general area of the dressing and/or rehearsal rooms.
Thank you for helping mold future young audiences for the performing arts!
