Outreach Performances
BYSO is committed to good music for all people. We teach our students to give back to our communities by presenting free concerts and performances in places not usually associated with classical music.
In the past few years we have performed at the Seattle Housing Authority Emergency Housing, the Queen Anne Helpline Benefit, KING-FM listener party at Factoria Mall, the Rotunda at the state capitol in Olympia, World Day of Peace at the Kingdome, four eastside branches of the King County Library System with our Music by Children for Children series, Arts Forum sponsored by Metropolitan King County Council and the Eastside Arts Coalition, Bellevue and Sammamish High Schools, several senior citizen residences, assisted living centers, the veterans' rehab center, and nursing homes .
This year (2007-2008) we are presenting five performances at Crossroads in Bellevue in November, December, March, April, and May. Other smaller presentations have included Evergreen Court Assisted Living, and the Crossroads Retirement Center.
Our Crossroads concerts will be held:
- November 11, 2007 - Sinfonia
- December 2, 2007 - Flute Orchestra
- March 2, 2008 – Youth Symphony
- April 6, 2008 -- Premiere Orchestra
- May 4, 2008 – Debut String Orchestra
